    Description

This listing is for a rare, high-end, badass, vintage Technics SL-120 Direct-Drive Turntable in excellent condition.
    It's a SL-1200 without a factory-installed tonearm.
    Works fine with no issues.
This turntable is 100% manual operation. You will be placing the tonearm on the record (or use the tonearm lowering mechanism, much gentler on the stylus), and when the record is done, you place the tonearm back in the cradle. You even fine-tune the speed as needed.
Dust cover is clean with virtually no scratches. The "bubble" in the upper right is to allow for customer-installed tonearm mechanisms. This is a high-end "audiophile" turntable that the customer was expected to install their own tonearm. The dust cover hinges are nice and tight and hold the dust cover up just fine.
The tonearm is a Grace model 707. Straight tonearm, original headshell. Tonearm lift works as it should and the tonearm drops slowly.
Tonearm has a Bang & Olufsen MMC 4000 cartridge with integrated stylus with the original stylus protector.
Original owners' manuals for the turntable and the tonearm are included. Also included are the original lock-down screws (which will be used during shipping) and the original bottle of lubricating oil (which I didn't use, as it's over 40 years old!) I used light machine oil as I do with all the turntables and tape decks that I refurbish.
Original 45 RPM adapter also included.
Tested by connecting to an amplifier, cartridge puts out nice stereo separation.
Cleaned and tested. Motor spindle lubricated. Cartridge tracking force set at 1.18 grams with a digital force gauge.

The only negative is there is a small area near the 45RPM adapter where a "dust cleaner" arm was epoxied to the plinth. I removed all of the old yellowed epoxy but there are a few scratches there as a result. The operation of the turntable is in no way affected by this.
This is a vintage piece of stereo gear, and therefore has no warranty whatsoever. It is not returnable for any reason. You will receive exactly the turntable as shown in the pictures, Technics SL-120 serial number DA6128A008.
In order to have the best chance of the turntable arriving without damage, it will be professionally packed. I will be adding to the final price (plus shipping) to account for this.
Good Luck and Thanks for bidding!
