Description
This has been my personal-use TT for about the last 12 years. Purchased at "Vintage Voltage Expo", Denver, CO. I've had it for a long time, but everything must change. There are so many other cool TT's that I need to try before I get too old to like music.PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS BELOW TO WATCH THE TURNTABLE OPERATE.

The details......
I have babied and maintained this this machine.
All functions operate as designed.
It reliably lets you choose what tracks to play and goes to them automatically. It's amazing. Every. Damn. Time. Well, almost. An LP with very a small gap between songs can cause the "optical" sensor to not see the gap, therefore not identifying the new track. Think Beatles White Album between Piggies and Bungalow Bill. Tricks the Optonica every time. Also, sunlight through a window can negatively affect the technology. The answer is to place the TT correctly in the room, taking into account that the sensing mechanism is based on light refraction.
It has a real glass lid that is thick. Nice style overall, with brushed metal control plate, cool looking tone arm, and neato aluminum headshell. Under the headshell resides an Ortofon OM-5 with fairly low use
It sounds great. Optonica was competing with the other "higher end" consumer stuff of the time. Which means Technics, Pioneer, Sony, etc. They did a great job. Their stuff is sought after and quite good. It's kind of like a PL-630, but it skips tracks at the sole direction and discretion of the user.
This example of the RP-7705 is simply in great shape and still works as intended by the manufacturer.
I made a couple of videos to prove it and you'll find those at the bottom of the description.
I'll pack this thing for shipping like it was my own child,
appropriately
disassembled
so that nothing bad happens when turned sideways or upside down.
I'm going to ship this out to you via FEDEX ground. It'll get there FAIRLY quickly that way. I ship within 4 days of payment. Just know the post office is 20 miles from my house and the FEDEX drop off is 40. It will be insured for the purchase price and "adult" signature required, thus the "handling fee" of to defray these costs.
Thanks for looking at this listing and remember to see my other listings on THIS website and many of the other popular ones. Same user name across the whole world wide web of selling! I'm into vintage anything, musical, and automotive stuff. Cheers!
