We think the mirror turntable protractors are somewhat a gimmick, so instead we have merged the idea of a high visibility protractor with an attractive and accurate turntable accessory.
Directions:
1: remove any records on the turntable and place the protractor on facing you
2: with the cartridge in headshell loosely tighten screws so that the cartridge's position holds but is adjustable
3: set arm to "up position"
4: swing head over the 120.9mm point on protractor and spin the protractor to meet up with the head
5: align the needle tip to above the dot
Optional: adding stylus cover may help for adjustment or protection
6: by moving and/or turning the cartridge, align front of cartridge parallel to the nearest line.
Optional: if the cartridge's sides are perpendicular to its front you may align the sides using the other set of lines
7: go over the 66.04mm position and align the cartridge again
Repeat adjustment going from 120.9mm to 66.04mm until alignment tolerance has been refined.
Tighten screws and maybe recheck alignment.
Do a playback check by listening to a record and pay attention to the quality of the beginning and end of a side!
