8M4000172 Motorguide Controller. Installed on new Motorguide Trolling Motors but removed due to a minor programming error. When the motor speed goes up and you stop it and turn it back on, it should resume at the same speed. These work correctly up to 80% speed but if turned off and on above that, it reverts to slow speed. This is generally the way people like it to work so they don't get jerked going from stopped to 100% speed. I have zero complaints about that.Keep in mind, you need to mate the handheld fob to the controller module. First, disconnect controller power. Reconnect power and within 10 seconds, hold the up, down, left and right arrow buttons down until you hear a beep. This clears the memory.
Second, disconnect the power again. Reconnect power and within 10 seconds, hold down the left and right arrow buttons until you hear a beep. The fob and controller are now mated.
Its best to apply some fresh silicone heat transfer grease to the module.
On 24 volt motors, you need to keep the two ferrite sleeves on the red and black wires.
